Penn Chemistry Advisory Board member Jeffrey Beck passes away

Jeffrey S. Beck passed away on April 7 in Houston, TX. Jeff received his PhD from this department with Larry Sneddon in 1989 and has been a member of the Penn Chemistry Scientific Advisory Board since its inception. In addition to a memorial service in Houston, a service is being planned for New Jersey next month.

Graduate Student Ursula Williams acknowledged by ACS

Graduate Student Ursula Williams (Schelter group) was named as one of 12 recipients nationally of the Eli Lilly Travel Award by the Women Chemists Committee (WCC) of the American Chemical Society. This highly competitive award provides funding for female undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral fellows to travel to a national meeting and present their research.
