New Chemistry Faculty

The Department of Chemistry is pleased to welcome to new Assistant Professors to the faculty.
Zahra Fakhraai, an experimental physical chemist, comes to Penn from a NSERC Postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
David Chenoweth, a bioorganic chemist, is currently a NIH Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
James Petersson named a Searle Scholar

James Petersson, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, has been named a 2010 Searle Scholar. Just fifteen Scholars are named annually to support the independent research of outstanding young scientists who have recently joined the tenure-track faculty. Congratulations to James for this prestigious honor.
Robin Hochstrasser receives honor

Robin Hochstrasser is to receive the 2010 Pittsburgh Spectroscopy Award by the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh. Robin will be honored at an awards symposium in Orlando next week.
