For many years George served as the Associate Director of Technical Facilities and Director of the Penn Chemistry NMR Facility. A native of Jersey City, NJ, George graduated from St. Peter's College with a B.S. in Chemistry, received his Master's Degree from the University of Notre Dame, and his Ph.D. from Fordham University.
He was a passionate fan of Notre Dame football.
