ACES Hosts Second Successful Program

The Activities for Community Education in Science (ACES) program, started by graduate students Kelsey VanGelder (Kozlowski Group) and Lyndsay Wood (Winkler Group), hosted its second successful science event for children. Local students in grades three through nine visited the Chemistry Department recently to perform a variety of science experiments designed to pique their interest in science, including extracting DNA from strawberries, electroplating pennies with a variety of metals, and making ice cream using liquid nitrogen.
