Edgar Fahs Smith

Edgar Fahs Smith (1854-1928) was a professor of chemistry and a provost of the University of Pennsylvania.


The Edgar Fahs Smith Memorial Collection at the Penn Library is devoted to the history of chemistry, emphasizing periods prior to 1850. The collection includes monogrpahic works on chemistry, alchemy, and related fields. In addition, there are more than 3,000 prints, engravings, and photogrpahs of eminent scientists, their laboratories, and the apparatus they used.
