Ivan Dmochowski honored by McKnight Endowment Fund

Ivan Dmochowski has been named a recipient of a 2012 McKnight Technological Innovations in Neuroscience Award along with his colleague James Eberwine (Perelman School of Medicine). The McKnight Endowment Fund for Neuroscience supports research projects that develop and apply innovative technologies for studying the brain and its diseases.

Madeleine Joullié Oral History Featured by CHF

Jeffrey Winkler's Research Featured

Prof. Jeffrey Winkler's collaborative research effort with Prof. Ravi K. Amaravadi and colleagues in the Perelman School of Medicine and the Abramson Cancer Center is featured in an early edition of PNAS. The research focuses on development of a potent new drug that clogs up the recycling machinery of tumor cells.

 

Graduate Student Yitao Zhang honored for teaching

Yitao Zhang of the Chenoweth group has received a 2012 Penn Prize for Excellence in Teaching by Graduate Students.

This award recognizes the profound impact of graduate students on undergraduate education at Penn.

Jeff Saven's Research Featured

University of Pennsylvania chemistry professor Jeffery Saven and his group are part of a team that has become the first to use computational methods to create the first custom-designed protein crystal. Protein design is a technique that is increasingly valuable to a variety of fields, from biochemistry to therapeutics to materials engineering. The team's research was published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Science.

 

Graduate Student Bruno Melillo honored for teaching

Bruno Melillo of the Smith group has received a 2012 School of Arts and Sciences Dean's Award for Distinguished Teaching by Graduate Students. Bruno and his fellow award recipients will be honored at a School-wide reception on Wednesday, April 25 at 4:00 p.m.

Andrew Rappe honored with a Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching

Prof. Andrew Rappe has been selected to receive a 2011-2012 Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching.
