Nanoscale Science and Engineering

Description
With its long history of the design, synthesis, and characterization of molecular systems at the 0.1-100 nm length scale, Chemistry plays a central role in modern nanoscience and engineering. Groups from Penn Chemistry are central to efforts in nanoscale science, which include computational design, synthesis of molecular systems with novel optoelectronic properties, and self-organizing macromolecules. Multi-user facilities for these investigations are found on campus at the Laboratory for Research on the Structure of Matter (LRSM) and the Nano-Bio Interface.
